In the far reaches of the Imperium of Man resides the Calixis Sector, a region rich in resources and mystery. While the Imperials continue to transport planetary tithes, basking in the wealth and status that over abundance brings, dark factions plot and plan to dismantle the God Emperors will. Aliens, heretics, and demons slip between the shadows feeding upon the corrupt and desperate. To challenge these threats the Inquisition recruits only the bravest and most loyal of the citizenry, equipping them with the tools needed to root out the enemies of the Imperium.
The Bale Star campaign is a story driven game that challenges the players’ investigative and combative skills as they investigate the activities of a newly formed crime syndicate within the Calixis Sector that deal in illegal xenos technology, dark sorcery, and terrorism. Containing a genre blend of Dark Heresy RPG, Rogue Trader RPG, Call of Cthullu RPG, and Shadowrun the players traverse alien worlds where they explore lost civilizations, uncover heretical cults operating in the highest echelons of nobility, and track down the sectors most deranged and wicked criminals, all the while gathering additional clues to the elusive forces operating behind the scenes responsible for seemingly random catastrophes surrounding an event known as the Tyrant Star.
A Multimedia Gaming Experience
Using multimedia methods for improving the story experience I create videos (like the one above), interactive tactical maps (see below example), handouts, and other cool stuff to bring the Warhammer 40k universe to life. Combat requires the use of both miniatures and (more commonly) video displays. The logic behind using the interactive video maps is that it allows for combat to be performed on a larger scale and at greater distances.
Joining the Bale Star Campaign
In order to play you’ll need to have your own transportation. All of us are over 25 years old and though we don’t feel like age matters when it comes to acting mature we do require that players are at least 18 years old, mainly due to the adult humor that is common amongst the players. If you would like to sit in on a game to get a feel of it we welcome that though we prefer you to at least play an NPC for a while (provided by the GM). You can get more details if you visit our my Pen and Paper page at: Lord_Inquisitors P&P page
Special Thanks
Special thanks to all the gamers out there that helped to create all the many extra un-official works to make our campaign so enjoyable!
